Sue Coleman has been appointed director of development at the Imperial War Museum.

She will be based at the London branch of the Imperial War Museum and will be strengthening existing fundraising programmes and developing new ones.

Coleman has commenced work on a number of projects that include a children’s interactive gallery scheduled to open at Imperial War Museum London in 2009, restoration work on HMS Belfast and Your History, the Imperial War Museum's new public access space planned for opening from 2009.

Coleman and her team will also be relaunching a legacy programme later this year.

Coleman said: “I am fascinated by the rich and diverse collections held by the Imperial War Museum and the way it successfully combines history with powerful personal stories across each of its five sites.”
