Manchester Metropolitan University honoured one of the
UK’s top nurses, Rosemary Cook, CBE.
Rosemary, who rose from Bradford practice nurse to director
of the Queen’s Nursing Institute, receives an Honorary
Doctorate of Letters for her contribution to community nursing
and primary care.
She is the honoured guest at the 2008 Graduation Ceremony
of the Faculty of Health, Psychology and Social Care at
the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester.
Rosemary has close links with the Faculty through its degree
programmes in Community Nursing and its Academy for Health
and Well-being.
Professor Vince Ramprogus, Dean of Faculty, said: “The
ability of nurses to contribute to standards in the Health
Service is now more important than ever. Rosemary Cook and
the Queen’s Nursing Institute are making an invaluable
contribution to the professionalism, knowledge and ambitions
of thousands of nurses in this country.”
