The International League for the Protection of Horses (ILPH), has rolled out a repositioning strategy, with one of the key elements seeing it change its name to World Horse Welfare.

The move reflects the up-to-date work and reputation of the organisation and positions it to attract new supporters.

Founded in 1927 to prevent British horses being exported for slaughter, the charity now centres its operations on three core areas: UK welfare, international training and campaigns.

It works towards a vision for a world where the horse is used but never abused, and the renaming of the charity to World Horse Welfare encompasses the broader remit of the charity’s work as it looks to expand its role to tackle the root causes and effects of horse cruelty on a global basis.
